Researching East Tampa's Assets
Building on previous reserach, Dr. Key Perrin's students will engage in every aspect of research methods as they gather information to provide the community with asset information.
Description:
In order to learn every aspect of research methods, the students involved in Dr. Kay Perrin’s East Tampa project will review community-based research literature, become familiar with the East Tampa neighborhood, explore grant writing opportunities pertinent to this area, write budgets and conduct interviews with East Tampa business owners. Students will conduct interviews with small businesses to identify strengths and ways to increase connections.
The benefit of this project will be to provide the community with a review of community-based best practices, identifying all possible grants available to and appropriate for the neighborhood and USF for future redevelopment. Additionally, it will build on Dr. Perrin’s previously gathered qualitative research on the area and its assets.
