East Tampa Improvement: A Service Learning Project
Description:
This project involves creation of a new service-learning course called “Topics in Urban Geography.” Students will collect and analyze data on physical conditions and investment needs for housing and commercial buildings in older urban neighborhoods. During the first year, field work will be done within a seven block target area in East Tampa, with final reports and survey findings to go to the City of Tampa’s East Tampa office, as well as to the professor.
