Community Engagement at USF - A New Faculty Workshop [09/11/2007]
All New Faculty are welcome to attend this year's New Faculty Workshop. This is a great way to learn about research and service-learning projects around USF. Every fall, the USF Collaborative of Children, Families and Communities offers new USF faculty the opportunity to meet experienced faculty engaged in community-based projects, as well as meet community partners seeking expertise. Participants of past workshops include Provost Renu Khator, Associate Provost Dwayne Smith, Faculty Senate President Susan Greenbaum, and senior faculty in Arts & Sciences, FMHI, Health Sciences, Architecture, Education, and others. This year’s workshop will be held on Friday, October 5 at the downtown Waterside Marriott Hotel. The workshop is preceded by the All Florida Day Conference and lunch hosted by Florida Campus Compact, as part of the International Research Conference on Service-Learning and Community Engagement Conference being held October 6 – 9 at the Marriott Waterside. The workshop begins at 1:30pm. Attendees will be introduced to new USF faculty and research interests, and examples of existing partnerships & lessons learned will be detailed. Additional information regarding University resources and support will be outlined, followed by small group discussions and “speed collaborating.” To RSVP or for more information, please email Jetson@usfcollab.usf.edu or call (813) 974-7318.
