Collaborative Announces 2006-2007 Faculty Grant Guidelines [01/10/2006]

The Collaborative for Children, Families, and Communities is pleased to announce the 9th annual Collaborative Faculty Grant Program. Approximately 5-10 grants will receive from $5,000 to $15,000 each for projects lasting up to 12 months. The Collaborative alone with the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County have funds available to sponsor projects in the categories of (a) community-based research or (b) the development of community based/service learning instruction.

All projects must involve a collaboration of two or more academic disciplines or USF departments, and must involve a partnership between USF and one or more community groups.  All proposals must support research or instruction that acquires, applies, and/or disseminates knowledge, tests theories, and addresses critical issues of public concern.  Priority will be given to proposals that address young children (0-8 years), early adolescence (10-14), resilience and protective factors, and/or East Tampa.  The Collaborative also requires that projects have a potential for impact beyond the preliminary funding.
