Anytown Youth Leadership and Diversity Programs [05/19/2008]

Anytown, a residential youth leadership and diversity awareness program recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a “Best Practice,” is recruiting Hillsborough and Pinellas 14 - 18 year old high school students to participate in a nationally recognized summer leadership and diversity awareness program hosted by Community Tampa Bay. Anytown also needs volunteers to serve as volunteer-staff for one or more of the sessions. This 5-day residential training includes workshops and discussion groups, which cover topics such as “stereotypes,” “racism,” “gender,” “disability,” “discrimination based on sexual orientation,” “privilege,” “advocacy” and “volunteerism.” Each session can host 50-60 youth, and the program will take place at Dayspring Conference Center Ellenton, with transportation provided by Community Tampa Bay.
