Learn Social Marketing from USF Public Health [05/19/2008]

USF’s College of Public Health will offer four days of intensive training during their 18th Social Marketing in Public Health Conference, to be held June 18th-21st, 2008 in Clearwater Beach. On the first two days, Wednesday, June 18th and Thursday, June 19th, the Social Marketing Academy will use case studies to illustrate how social marketing can be applied to the development of public health interventions. The Academy will blend classroom and experiential learning and provide participants intensive training in social marketing including: • Basic principles and practices associated with formative research and audience segmentation; • Conceptual and practical frameworks for marketing strategy development; • Social marketing’s approach to program development, and • “Thinking like a marketer”. On Friday June 20th, conference sessions cover a range of social marketing topics, including focus group research, pretesting methods, evaluation of social marketing interventions, and marketing social marketing.
