What have you learned from your research that you wish every professional knew?

 “If you are going to do to public health research, you must leave the university campus and get into the community. Listen to the stories of the people. Let these stories drive your research. Focus on the attributes of the individual or community rather than looking for the deficient.”

What have you learned from your research that you wish every student knew?

 “Never start a project without first clearly defining the research question(s).”
