What has been your involvement with Collaborative grants?
“I’ve never had one, but I have chaired the grant review process since its first year.”
Have you done any other children-related proposals or grants? If so, briefly describe:
“I’ve had several from the National Institutes of Mental Health (NIMH) including one on a comparison of outcomes for children receiving three models of in-home crisis services.”
What have you learned from your research in your career that you wish every professional and every student knew?
“Research, like life, is about relationships. Establishing trusting relationships with colleagues and people enrolled in your studies is the critical element in designing, conducting, and disseminating information from research projects.”
What do you think is the biggest issue in your field right now and how would you address it?
“It is probably related to implementation and dissemination of findings from research. There needs to be more studies of the barriers and facilitators to dissemination in order to improve the quality of care for children and families.”
