Dewey Rundus is an Associate Professor in Computer Science and Engineering department. His educational background includes a B.S. degree in Mathematics (1966) from the University of California, Davis, a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology (1971) from Stanford University, and an M.S. degree in Computer Engineering (1985) from the University of South Florida. Following a Postdoctoral position at The Rockefeller University, Dr. Rundus came to USF where he was a member of the faculty in the Department of Psychology for 15 years. Following a sabbatical year spent at NASA Ames Research Center, Dr. Rundus returned to USF and joined the CSE faculty.

His research interests focus on the interaction between a computer system and its human user. Under this broad umbrella, Dr. Rundus and his students have explored such topics as geographical information systems, object oriented databases, software reuse, usability testing, medical device interfaces, and WEB site architectures. He has been recognized for his outstanding teaching at both the College and University levels and has served administratively as Undergraduate Program Director and Associate Chairman in the department, and is currently the Deputy Director of the National Institute for Applied Computational Intelligence (NIACI) in the College of Engineering.
